What’d You Do This Weekend? #20

What'd Ya Do This Weekend

Welcome to the new week. If you are a regular here thanks for coming back and if this is your first time, welcome! I hope you enjoy the party.

Big Sister was in town to watch the grand girls and we ate and cooked and ate some more.  We are finishing up the weekend working on a burger extravaganza that will be coming soon!  I had everyone in my family write out their favorite burger and we are making them all.  Fun times in the kitchen and on the grill.

To start our food fiesta we went a little “light” with this Taco Salad with Jicama Pico.

Welcome to the new week. If you are a regular here thanks for coming back and if this is your first time, welcome! I hope you enjoy the party.

We went from a week of sadness and tragedy to one that was wonderful and hopeful for me.  This week the ladies at our church lead by my daughter, Amy, put together a spring festival called Hearts of Compassion.  It was a beautiful day and a beautiful event.  Everyone had a ball and some really good work came from it.  I added my Peanut Butter Cake to everyone’s baked goods for the sale.

Welcome to the new week. If you are a regular here thanks for coming back and if this is your first time, welcome! I hope you enjoy the party.

Such a sad and dramatic week last week.  It made me pause to think about those things for which I am truly grateful.  Of course, I am grateful for my friends and I really thought that Ladies Holiday’s contribution to the party came at just the right time.  It was the mid-week feature.

These contributions also lifted my spirits.

This weekend was time to finish getting the garden set.  I repainted my patio furniture, painted my garden markers (thanks SaltTree), planted the rest of my summertime seeds and vegetables and (whew!) then I rewarded myself with this delicious Grilled Cheese Green Chile Hamburger.

New Friend Friday #16

“Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.”

That is what I taught my Girl Scouts. Some things don’t change. I was privileged enough to be caught up in the fantastic world of Online Blogcon. I met around 200 new friends just like that! In a space where folks could be reallycompetitive, they were anything but that. I discovered a group that is supportive, sharing and hysterically funny. They are great and wonderfully talented individuals that have already taught me so much. I wanted to introduce them to you. Read a little bit about them and then take a ramble over to their site and check them out.  Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to Julie from the Naptime Review.  Julie is a very smart lady who inspires and motivates with her blog.

Julie Naptime Review

I created my blog because I love shopping and am passionate when I find a product that I love. I want to share it with everyone! I took my love for shopping and turned it into a way to help others. I have always had the need to help, influence, and support people. I am creative, and love to design things. Motherhood is my life and I am always looking for products that make my life easier or will enrich my children’s. I truly enjoy blogging and meeting new friends and am fascinated with the blogging world and all the people it reaches. I am so thankful God has led me down this path!

I have a Masters in teaching and B.S. in Marketing and Sales. I love educational products and I am always looking for ways to entertain my girls while teaching them. My time is limited with two small children but when the children nap in sync which is a rare occasion, that’s when I search the internet for new products or deals. Naptime Review will give moms the latest information on products that I LOVE and want to share.

Welcome to the new week. If you are a regular here thanks for coming back and if this is your first time, welcome! I hope you enjoy the party.

I was a little late with the mid-week feature do to a crazy week at work but I just adore this one from Jane’s Adventures in Dinner:  Fat Free Banana Gingerbread Muffins.  Mmm.mmm…good and no fat (til you add that hunk of butter).

Last week, I was garden inspired again with this simple and cute Strawberry Planter from We Made That.

I also thought this rainy day cake with a bit of sunshine mixed in from Just Dip It In Chocolate was precious!  Berry Blue Poke Cake

We are doing it again this week. Everyone gets pinned. Spread the word. ;)

There was a lot of destruction in this west Texas town this weekend.  I stayed home and steered clear of the chaos.  On Saturday they brought down this old and unused tower.  It was a landmark even though it was kind of an eyesore.  I think things will look very different.  They also destroyed the old city hall.  I guess El Paso is into spring cleaning this year.

This weekend, while hiding out, I hosted a Lemon party with Hammock Tracks and Call Me PMC.  There was some great stuff and I remembered a few of my favorite lemon posts.  Of course, I threw a new one in for good measure.  Lemon Basil Sandwich Cookies, Meyer Lemons and Lemon Poppy Seed Bread.
