“Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.”
That is what I taught my Girl Scouts. Some things don’t change. I was privileged enough to be caught up in the fantastic world of Online Blogcon. I met around 200 new friends just like that! In a space where folks could be really competitive, they were anything but that. I discovered a group that is supportive, sharing and hysterically funny. They are great and wonderfully talented individuals that have already taught me so much. I wanted to introduce them to you. Read a little bit about them and then take a ramble over to their site and check them out. Today I’d like to pause and bring you up to speed on what some of my friends have been up to.
First, Diana from Diana Rambles who is a blog design expert made some buttons for me. You should check out her site as she always has fantastic blogging tips and tricks or if you are looking for a blog redesign check out her templates.
I met a new friend, Marci, from Stone Cottage Adventures. She was our New Friend Friday last week. She is just the sweetest thing. And Monday I got a package from her. She had a give-away – a hand-made zippered pouch. And she made a red one special for me. It is so pretty and it was so sweet of her to do this. I love it.
Be sure to check out Marci’s website for her recipes, gardening ideas and her wonderful family style. You will find yourself wishing you lived in her stone cottage too.
Then I got another surprise in the mail. I received a coupon for a container of Pom Poms – free from Jen over at Juanita’s Cocina. Jen was our first ever guest post and blogger friend. Those are ready to eat pomegranate seeds (in case you haven’t seen these). She had a give-away I registered for. Jen is a very exciting blogger to follow. She has been blogging for a year and has she ever set a pace for herself! Check out their Pomwonderful.com. They have a coupon waiting for you for $1 off the juice.
Her recipes are true to her personality. Exciting and a bit edgy! She is a busy cook and has a full-time job. I asked her once how she got so much done. She says she lives in her kitchen on the weekends! Sort of like the rest of us. Her recipes are all worth a try. I haven’t had one yet that didn’t meet my expectations. Her Scallion Pancakes are delicious! These would be great for your Super Bowl party or a weekend small bites meal. I am going to create a special recipe with the Pom Poms arils (that’s what those seeds are really called) for Valentine’s. Watch for it. Thanks, Jen.
